LET THE ADVENTURE BEGIN!

We believe that every child needs time outdoors in nature to play in an imaginative way. Every day at Camp is filled with imaginative play, splashing in natural bodies of water, meeting local wildlife, and more! Camp Twigs is a place where your child’s creativity and imagination can run wild!

The camp day is unstructured and unscheduled by design. We think that kids spend enough time during the school year having every minute of their day dictated; summer should be a time for more freedom and autonomy. Small group size allows each child to help decide what to do each day.

LOCATIONS:

North in Hendersonville at Sanders Ferry Park on Old Hickory
Southwest in Natchez Trace at the Rau-Wood Retreat Center on the Little Harpeth, just past the Loveless Cafe
Both are small camps with less than 40 campers each week.

BREAK CAMP

For ages: 5-12

Discover the magic of seasonal adventures at Break Camp, a week-long day camp during fall, winter, and spring breaks at Sanders Ferry Park. Open to children ages 5-12, our camp offers a perfect mix of fun activities that spark creativity, encourage physical activity, and foster a love for the outdoors. Shuttle service is available from the West End and East Nashville.

Camp Twigs loves to encourage exploration and spark curiosity and this is a great location to do so! This beautiful 70-acre property is nestled in the rolling hills just outside of Nashville next to the South Harpeth River. This peaceful retreat offers big grassy fields, a rolling river perfect for nature exploring, a playground, tree swings, and a big pavilion to play games, crafts, and other camp fun! All of our camps are highly personalized and allow children to choose their own adventure.

Our oldest location is located at Sanders Ferry Park in Hendersonville, TN. This park is on the peninsula in Hendersonville surrounded by Old Hickory Lake. Sanders Ferry offers big grassy fields for games, hidden forests for forts and fairy houses, ample picnic shelters for shade and shelter, a playground and gaga ball pit, and a lake for exploring and splashing. Leadership Academy Camp Twigs at Sanders Ferry is a place where your child’s creativity and imagination can run wild.

We believe that outdoor play increases creativity, confidence, social intelligence and grit. Every child needs time outdoors to play in an imaginative way and connect with nature and friends.

Camp Twigs is a summer enrichment program that helps to bridge the summer learning gap by engaging children in outdoor play and informal environmental education to raise awareness, foster respect and share enthusiasm for the natural environment.

Sample Activities:

• Traditional camp games and crafts
• Discover aquatic habitats in local creeks and lakes
• Forest time for forts, fairy houses, and bug hunting
• Paddleboarding in a secluded cove at Sanders Ferry; tubing down the Little Harpeth at Rau-Wood
• Hiking and nature journaling
