Hello Parents!

We are looking forward to a summer full of exploration and outdoor FUN and we are glad that your child with be joining us!

It has been proven that time spent in nature helps kids develop their creativity, problem solving skills and helps them do better academically!

Our Mission

At Leadership Academy, we believe that outdoor play and connection to nature increases confidence, creativity, social intelligence and grit. Leadership Academy Camp at Warner Park engages children in outdoor play and informal environmental education to raise awareness, foster respect and share enthusiasm for the natural environment.

Our Program

Our unique program emphasizes developing independence, a sense of exploration and creativity in our campers.  Each small group, lead by a counselor, will have a set of activities, games and challenges to work on throughout the day, without the stress and restriction of a closely monitored schedule.

The groups will gather in the morning to talk about their goals and plans for that day.  Then, they will travel through the park with their counselor and their lunches, learning and exploring as they go.

For example, if they are enjoying their time at the river, the group may decide to forgo another activity to hunt for crayfish. This will require cooperation within the group and with the guidance of their counselors, we know that our campers will have fun, learn and thrive.

ACA-Accredited Camp

What does ACA-Accreditation mean to You and Your Camper?

ACA Accreditation means that Leadership Academy Camp at Warner Park submitted to a thorough 300 standards review of its operation by the American Camp Association (ACA) — from staff qualifications and training to emergency management — and complied with the highest standards in the industry. We believe that when parents expect their children to attend accredited schools, they also deserve a camp experience that is reviewed and accredited by an expert, independent organization.

About the American Camp Association – ACA is the only independent accrediting organization reviewing camp operations in the country. Its nationally-recognized standards program focuses primarily on the program quality, health and safety aspects of a camp’s operation. ACA collaborates with experts from the American Academy of Pediatrics, the American Red Cross, and other youth-serving agencies to assure that current practices at the camp reflect the most up-to-date, research-based standards in camp operation. For more parent-focused information about accreditation, visit ACA’s CampParents.org.

Drop Off and Pick Up – Monday through Wednesday & Friday

Have your ID ready when you sign your camper out each day.  Please arrive between 8:45-9:00am for drop-off and 3:45-4:00pm for pick-up.

This summer, we will be offering before and after care from 7:45am-5:15pm for $50/week. A late pickup fee of $1/minute may be assessed.

During extended care hours, campers will play fun games under full supervision of Camp Warner Park staff.

The Bob Brown Field Station is our home base.  The drop-off location is the Vaughn’s Gap Cross Country Trail parking lot on Hwy 100, just NORTH of the stop light at Old Hickory Blvd.

FYI- We will have signs marking the parking lot because the building is not clearly visible from the road.

Friday Meet ‘n’ Greet

We would like to invite you to our Meet-and-Greet event that takes place on Friday afternoon between 3:15 – 4:30 PM at the Bob Brown Field Station (Regular check-in/check-out location.) Parents need to park in the first parking lot and then walk to the camp area; please wear your mask.  In the case of rain, bring your umbrella, however the event is cancelled if there is thunder or lightning. Feel free to bring the whole family, but please keep the animals at home. Some campers get anxious or distracted by our furry friends.
