All ages are welcome; children under 10 will need to share a boat with an adult.

Guided Adventure: Family Paddle/Campout at Long Hunter State Park

Experience the thrill of camping under the stars, enjoy a day of hiking, and paddle your way through scenic waters. We’ll provide paddle equipment, meals, tents, and sleeping pads for rent at $35 per family. Join us for an unforgettable family adventure for $300 for an adult and child, with additional family members at just $50 each.
Guided Adventure: Family Trip to Nantahala Outdoor Center, Bryson City, NC
Pack your bags and join us for an action-packed family trip to the Nantahala Outdoor Center (NOC) in Bryson City, NC! Spend your holiday weekend rafting on the Nantahala River, conquering a ropes course, paddling on a serene mountain lake, and relaxing by the riverside. Meals (except first-day dinner), lodging in family bunkhouses (shared bathhouse), and transportation are provided for $600 per person.
Cell service, stores, and restaurants are available at the NOC, so you can enjoy the outdoors without worrying about forgotten items or missed calls.
Itinerary:
- Friday – drive to NOC, move into the bunkhouse, do self-dinner, and explore on your own.
- Saturday – group breakfast, adventure ropes course, box lunch, rafting, and group dinner/campfire
- Sunday – group breakfast, waterfall hike, box lunch, paddle boarding & kayaking on a mountain lake, dinner
- Monday – group breakfast, pack up, drive back to Nashville, box lunch for the drive
Requirements: Children must be at least 7 years old to raft and 60 pounds to get on the ropes course.
What you need to bring: Linens & pillows for your bunkhouse, clothing (consider for water activities & weather), and any personal hygiene products.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I drop my child off at the event and leave them?
This is a family event, and parents will need to attend. If you’re looking for something just for your children, we highly suggest our summer day camps for ages 5-17, like Camp Twigs, Mountain Bike Camp, or Teen Leaders, which are available at both Camp Twigs locations.
I don’t have camping or padding equiptment can my family still attend?
Our family paddle day is all-inclusive. Just bring yourself.
For the Family Campout, paddle equipment, meals, tents, and sleeping pads are for rent at $35 per family.
Is shuttle service provided?
Only transportation is provided for our family trip to the Nantahala Outdoor Center event.
What if it rains?
Weather is always a variable we cannot control. We’ll monitor the weather as the event approaches and notify you appropriately. If the event is rained out, we will reschedule.
Am I allowed to bring adult beverages?
Please leave adult beverages at home. We strive to provide an experience for the whole family. Adult beverages can create hazards for the activities we participate in.
