Dear Camp Families,
I am thrilled to share some exciting updates with you as the new owner of Leadership Academy. I’m Carrie “Firefly” Howell; some of you may know me already. Though we’ve encountered a few unexpected delays, I assure you that your patience is immensely appreciated during this transition.
Embracing change is a cornerstone of our approach, and with that, I regret to inform you that Camp Twigs at Bells Bend Beaman will not return. I am instead focusing on growing a phenomenal program in Hendersonville, which is a similar distance from Nashville. I hope to offer an east-side shuttle to this location instead!
We know you are eagerly awaiting the return of the Mountain Bike Camp, which is confirmed, albeit with a twist – it will be hosted in new and exciting locations, promising a diverse and thrilling riding experience.
Let me introduce you to Camp Twigs Rau-Wood, a new name for our former Bellevue site that will better resonate with the unique beauty of our location. We are so excited to partner with the Rau-Wood Retreat Center to have a camp on their property, formerly a summer camp itself!
Camp Twigs at Sanders Ferry will return, providing a range of engaging activities for your child to enjoy. We added archery and paddling in 2024; we’re thrilled to continue these exciting outdoor recreation opportunities for campers this summer!
As as I not a sailor, the ship has sailed on Nashville Sail Camp. I have made the difficult decision not to operate Nashville Sail Camp moving forward. I want to share with you my enduring dedication to promoting boating safety and fostering connections within our local aquatic parks. New camp opportunities are coming soon!
